Summers meant trips toward the river, family cookouts, and long drives across town to visit relatives from Riverside to Mandarin. After finishing school, Marissa entered the personal-care field and discovered that she especially enjoyed waxing because it combined technical skill with one-on-one client care.
Over the years, Marissa noticed that many clients approached Brazilian waxing with more anxiety than they needed to have. Some had experienced rushed appointments. Others had never been told how much hair to grow, what the service actually included, or what to do afterward. She started Brazilian Wax Jacksonville to create the kind of experience she thought local clients deserved: straightforward explanations, professional boundaries, careful technique, and no embarrassment about asking basic questions.
As the business grew, Marissa brought in Tiana Brooks and Elena Martinez, both Northeast Florida professionals who shared her approach. The team now serves clients throughout Jacksonville, Duval County, and nearby communities. They see waxing as practical personal care, not something that needs to be overcomplicated. Their goal is to do the work carefully, communicate clearly, and help clients leave knowing how to care for their skin and prepare for the next visit.
